Last Wednesday, June 18th at 9:30 a.m., the final meeting for the review of the regulations affecting coastal areas took place. On this occasion, the meeting was held online and was attended by representatives from all the entities that make up the Surfing Towns Network.

Following the previous work carried out in the two earlier meetings (one held in Somo on March 27 and the last one in Getxo on June 5), the final meeting focused on general proposals for updating local regulations, taking into account the contributions and topics previously discussed, as well as the concerns and needs of each entity involved in the project.

Among the proposals presented were the aim to make calls for proposals more competitive and to promote a more responsible management of the tourist destination, to involve public entities more actively in tourism planning, and to seek new common criteria for selection processes, among other matters.

This action is promoted by the Getxo City Council and represents a key milestone within the Surfing Towns Network project, an initiative under the “Experiencias España” program, financed with European “NextGeneration” funds.
