The Somo Surf Center was inaugurated in July 2012 as part of the Surf Product Competitiveness Plan, becoming the first official surf reception center in Spain. It is located on the seafront promenade, next to the spectacular skatepark.
The center offers a variety of services and facilities. On one side, there is a module specifically designed for surfers, featuring changing rooms, lockers, hot-water showers, and a board storage area. On the south side, you’ll find the reception, a tourist information office, and a multi-purpose training room that hosts a permanent exhibition on the History of Surfing in Cantabria. Both modules are connected by an internal corridor where the public showers are located. Outside, visitors can enjoy the Surf Café.
