It is one of the busiest beaches in the area and one of the most popular for surfing, with a length of about 2500 meters of very fine and golden sand. It is located in an urban setting, with a promenade surrounding the beach that ends at the Philippe Cousteau Anchor Museum. It is equipped with multiple services such as parking spaces for people with reduced mobility, lifeguard service, restrooms, showers, foot showers, and accessible ramps. It offers hospitality services, numerous surf schools and surf camps, shops, and an outdoor skatepark. It has been consecutively awarded the Blue Flag environmental quality certification for several years.

The renowned Salinas Longboard Festival, a reference in Europe, takes place at this beach. It features consistent and powerful waves, making it ideal for both novice and experienced surfers. Its orientation is northwest, and due to its length, it offers multiple peaks along the beach, with northwest swell, while the most favorable winds are from the south and northeast, allowing for good sessions almost year-round, with the best time being from spring to autumn.

The beach is divided into two main areas, El Espartal, located in the central zone of the beach, where the highest quality and most crowded peaks are found, with constantly changing bottoms. On the other hand, there is the Balneario area, located on the left side of the beach. This area is the least exposed to northwest swell and wind, making it ideal for less experienced surfers.
