There are very few metros in the world that are truly surf-friendly. The surfing community in Bizkaia knows this well and takes great pride in Metro Bilbao, which features a special carriage designed for sports equipment — especially surfboards and bicycles.
What’s more, it’s one of the few metros in the world that takes you straight to the beach. Nearly all of the beaches along the Right Bank of Bilbao are accessible by metro, particularly the five in Getxo, thanks to the stations of Areeta, Neguri and Bidezabal.
