Located in the Santa María (Andra Mari) neighborhood, Gorrondatxe Beach is arguably the most unique beach in Getxo—open and set in a natural environment. Though somewhat remote and with a challenging access path, it lies very close to the nearby town of Berango.
Surrounded by dramatic cliffs, the beach stands out for its grassy surface and the fact that it preserves part of its natural dune system. It is also home to a “golden spike,” a marker used in stratigraphy to denote globally significant geological locations.
With strong waves, it is ideal for surfing. Additionally, nudism is permitted on this beach. The sand is mixed with gravel.
