As the Surfing Villages Network project nears its end, the Castrillón City Council is hosting the closing event and results presentation, highlighting the months of joint work carried out by all participating partners.

The event will bring together various surf-related businesses and institutional representatives linked to the project at Salinas Beach. Together, they will review the actions developed during the implementation period and discuss future plans for the initiative. To conclude the evening and attract a broader audience, a 14-minute visual drone show will take place, showcasing images inspired by the project.

The Surfing Villages Network does not only aim to promote surfing as a sport, but also as a lifestyle that shapes the identity of these Atlantic towns. Beyond landscapes and waves, the network promotes values of cooperation, sustainability, and responsible tourism. It represents a collaborative working model between local governments, focused on sharing resources, creating synergies, and offering visitors a coherent, diverse, and high-quality experience.

This project is part of the Experiencias España strategy, a national plan to position unique and specialized tourist destinations. It is funded by the NextGeneration EU program under the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan. Its goal is clear: to offer unique experiences through a meaningful connection between land, local communities, and visitors, fostering a more conscious, active, and rooted kind of tourism.
